2020/2021 Hockey Season

Development Plan

 

On-ice Training

  • Set practices weekly
    • 2-3 practices per week (1.25 hours each)
      • Dependent on how many games we have each week
    • 2-3 Skill sessions per month
      • (MCN Player Development)
      • Consists of Power Skating and Skills Coach (1-2 sessions each per month)
    • Goalie Coach to attend 2-3 practices per month to work with goalies

 

Off-ice Training

  • 3-4 dryland training sessions per month at CAC Arena (after practice or on a different day)
    • These sessions will include but are not limited to, spin sessions, weight training, yoga, etc…
    • Player nutrition, hydration, sleep, work out information sessions
  • Spin bikes upstairs available for all players
  • Team Trainer (6 months)

 

Mental

  • Goal setting & preparation
  • Overcoming adversity
  • Focus

 

Video Sessions

  • Contract with Vid Swap (Full staff/Player access)
  • Team Video Sessions (Before or after practice)
  • Individual video sessions assigned by the coaching staff
  • Academic Accountability

 

Miscellaneous

  • Team building sessions (4-5 times throughout the year)
  • Fitness testing at the beginning, middle and end of season
  • Coaches will be with players weekly/monthly or as needed
  • Open communication with players, coaching staff and parents
  • Players and Parents adhere to team code of conduct and club respect and honor mandate
  • Team rule and expectations signed by players/parents
  • Team bus and travel agreement (if applicable)
  • Team equipment & Team apparel
  • Team social media account
