CAC Memo - 20/21 Season information

On behalf of the CAC Executive and CAC coaches, we thank you for your continued patience as we navigate these uncertain times. Our unwavering commitment is to get our teams back on the ice as quickly and successfully as possible. We recognize the impact COVID has had on our athletes, parents and coaches, and will do everything we can to salvage as much ‘normalcy’ as possible for this season.
Per the Memo released November 29th, CAC has now processed the December 15th deferred payments.
Please also note that all scheduled payments for February and March will be processed as usual. Although the current season to date has been truncated, it is imperative that CAC process these payments in full so as to be able to seamlessly reconcile financials, and ensure the clearest refunding process possible once the season concludes.
This approach also enables flexibility, as there remains a number of options for season conclusion that CAC, Hockey Edmonton, and the Elite committee are pursuing including, but not limited to:
1) Season conclusion at the end of March per the normal calendar
2) Practice / Skill Development extension to end of April
3) Practice / Skill Development, in conjunction with team cohort “series” (per October schedule), running to end of June
At this time we are waiting on information to be able to assess the options in play, including approval from Hockey Alberta and alignment with our fellow Elite clubs across the city. Also, we would be remiss not to mention that COVID trending rates could have a massive impact on our options as well.
We will continue to keep you abreast of any and all information as the situation progresses. In the meantime, we hope our players have been enjoying the return to the ice for development sessions, and ask that everyone continue to abide by the protocols in place so that we can put ourselves in the best possible position for season conclusion.
