WHAT IS THE KIDSPORT OIL COUNTRY HOCKEY ASSIST PROGRAM?

The Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation and KidSport Alberta have teamed up to launch the KidSport Oil Country Hockey Assist Program! Read the full Press Release.

This initiative will support communities in Oil Country by alleviating the cost of playing hockey for kids from underrepresented groups. The reality is that hockey is expensive and for the cost to participate can be unattainable for families.

Together, we will ensure that ALL kids in Oil Country can play hockey.

Since 1998, KidSport Alberta has supported thousands local minor hockey players so they can play the game that they love.

**Please note that in order to apply for funding, your player(s) must already be registered/registering with a minor hockey association within Oil Country.

LIVING IN EDMONTON?

Step 1: Register your child with the Canadian Athletic Club.

Hockey Edmonton provides options for minor hockey, recreational hockey, as well as pond hockey programs.

Step 2: Apply through KidSport Edmonton.

Step 3: If you require equipment, KidSport Edmonton will put you in touch with our equipment partner, Sport Central.

Approved applicants within Oil Country will have their full registration fees covered and have access to no-cost equipment from Sport Central.

Hockey Canada Assist Fund

The Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund is a fund dedicated to help Canadian youth access hockey. It will provide up to $500 per player in registration fee subsidies to approved applicants registered with a sanctioned Hockey Canada association.

Hockey Alberta Every Kid Every Community

The Every Kid Every Community program was launched in 2011, with the goal of ensuring a gateway to play hockey for any child in Alberta who is interested in the sport. The goal is to provide every child in Alberta the opportunity to play hockey, have fun and, in many cases, experience the sport for the first time.
