Josh is thrilled to be joining CAC as a Head Coach for their inaugural U11AA season! With over 15 years of experience in coaching, managing, and leadership roles, he brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective to the team. While he values the foundations of the traditional minor hockey system, he believes in adapting to the evolving needs of today’s young athletes. With access to the club’s top-tier facilities, he is eager to help players develop their skills, foster lasting friendships, and most importantly, enjoy the game they love. It’s an honor to lead such a talented group of young athletes with this amazing club. I look forward to sharing my passion for hockey, my dedication to the game, and my commitment to creating a positive and competitive environment. I take pride in getting to know each player individually, helping them grow as hockey players, and teaching them the importance of teamwork, discipline, and community involvement.
When he’s not at the rink, Josh enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, and exploring new
trails in the river valley.U13AAA
Brad is alumni of CAC playing for 3 seasons prior to leaving for the WHL. Brad played in the WHL for 5 years, winning the WHL Championship with the Kootenay Ice in 2000. He then captained the Seattle Thunderbirds in 2001 before departing the WHL to play for the University of Alberta Golden Bears, where he played for 5 seasons and won 2 National Championships. To further his hockey career, Brad then played 4 years professionally in Germany in the DEL.Brad has 6 years of coaching experience in minor hockey and employs the coaching philosophy that “every time you are on the ice is an opportunity to get better." A big believer in team building, Brad aims to make every player feel a part of the team and enjoy being at the rink. Brad aims to understand each player as an individual and what they require to grow and develop both on and off the ice. He also believes that hockey teaches kids a number of life skills which can be used throughout their lives; these can be developed throughout the year - such as hard work, dedication, confidence and accountability. Brad's goal is for the kids to improve their skills as hockey players and develop knowledge of the preparation and analysis of the game so that they can take these skills and techniques with them wherever their hockey careers take them.Brad has found memories of his time at CAC and is thrilled to be back at the club as a coach and mentor for the players in the program. Being a part of the game at the minor hockey level has been very special for Brad and he loves to see the kids achieve their team and individual goals while creating lifelong friendships with their teammates.U15AAA
Ryan is from Spruce Grove, Alberta. Coaching has always been a passion of his as he enjoys working with young athletes and helping them achieve their dreams/goals. He enjoys watching the players grow on the ice and grow as people off the ice. Ryan has coached 4 years at Parkland Athletic Club as a Head Coach and Assistant Coach at the following levels (U15AAA, U15AA and U16AA). He also has been the Head Coach for 1 season at U15AAA with Canadian Athletic Club. Over the past 7 years he has worked with ATC Goaltending as an instructor. He played all his minor hockey within Spruce Grove where he was fortunate enough to win two provincial championships in U13AA and U18AA.
He believes “Every team and every player are different. Every player needs a different plan that fits them best as a player. However, at the end of the day, they must buy into the team structure and be accountable for it. Therefore, for a team to be successful, a coach must coach individuals and the team. Most importantly, coaching is about developing these young athletes not only as hockey players but also assisting them in becoming good people and citizens.” Ryan takes great pride in creating an environment where everyone is family and respectful. On the ice he enjoys building an identity of being the hardest working team along with being disciplined.
Ryan currently finished up his business marketing diploma at NAIT. Away from the rink Ryan enjoys spending time on the golf course, staying physically active and spending time with family and friends.
Ryan is excited to be back next season for year 2 as the CAC U15AAA Head Coach. He is excited to see all the familiar faces at the rink and building a successful team for this upcoming season.
