The Hockey Edmonton Board of Directors passed a motion on March 19, 2020 to amend Operating Directive 2.2 and re-draw the Boundaries for male Elite (AA/AAA) Hockey beginning in the 2020-21 Hockey Season.
To ease in the transition the Hockey Edmonton Board of Directors also passed for players living in Edmonton a ONE-TIME grandfathering motion for male elite hockey categories of play other than Midget AAA.
Players who live within Edmonton and played on a 2019-20 Peewee AA, Bantam AA, Bantam AAA, Midget Minor AAA, Midget 15AA, or Midget AA team operated by an Edmonton Athletic Club are eligible to declare their desire to remain with the 2019-20 Athletic Club within whose boundaries they resided.
Please be aware that in future years should said player not roster with an elite hockey team in Edmonton for one or more seasons, their status as a grandfathered player ends, and they’ll be required to register with the Athletic Club within whose boundaries you reside in order to play AA or AAA hockey.
This ONE TIME Declaration must be returned to Hockey Edmonton via email to registration@hockeyedmonton.ca by MAY 1, 2020.
Should the declaration not be returned by May 1 the player will automatically be moved to the Athletic Club within whose boundaries your family resides.
