The CAC Women's Community Society won the Community Engagement award this year for their efforts in raising awareness and funds for the Lois Hole Women's Hospital. This could not have happened without the efforts and hard work from all of the CAC teams players and coaching staff!
Our Hockey Loves Moms games have raised over $35,000.00 to date. Pucks with Purpose. Sometimes a single connection is all that is needed for two communities to do great things. We want to raise awareness about the Lois Hole Hospital for Women.
This past year at our Hockey Loves Moms games, our 8 teams led by their moms and families and friends raised close to $14,000.00 towards the purchase of a neo-blue blanket and bassinet for the NeoNatal Unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. This unit is used for jaundiced babies. The blanket costs around $8000 and the bassinet $9000.00. We donated 13,000.00 towards the purchase. We would never have done any of this without the great support of our CAC Hockey Moms They took charge with the teams and did many different events to raise money towards our goals. The players and parents took an active role and we are very proud of our CAC families and especially the players who took an active role in raising monies.
